New Season of Life
As human beings, we go through seasons in our lives. Some
good, some bad, some long, some fun, and some that challenge us in ways we didn’t
think were possible. I must admit that I feel I have had my fair share of new seasons
over the past 5 years- more so than the first 25 years of my life it seems.
I guess you can never really predict what the next season of
your life will look like. I mean, we all have hopes and dreams about how our
lives will play out- but let’s be honest- we have very little control over most
of the things we are hopeful about. Maybe we can control the college, the job, the husband, the family,
the house, etc, but maybe not the order or timing of them. We all have these certain ideas of how it will be and never really
expect it be different. That is, until one day, you find yourself in a whole
new season you never could have imagined.
I started a blog over four years ago about our sweet
Caroline- when I was about 23 weeks pregnant with her. I remember the specifics
of the time frame because we had just found out just how special she would be,
one week earlier. (If you want to read my blog we started for her- check it
out https://thenewnormal1.blogspot.com/2015/08/life-changing-news.html- I recently reread them all and it brought back so many emotions of that
season in my life).
I wanted to start this blog- a new and fresh one- to
encompass all things in our lives. The old blog was mostly for keeping people
updated about the news of our sweet Caroline and living out our day by day
adventure in the NICU and first months home with her. (If you don't know her or much about her, I will share all of that with you soon!) But, this new blog is for more than that- it’s for sharing our lives- the good, the bad,
and the ever changing. Our lives are still very much Caroline – so the majority
of the posts may be about her (sorry not sorry!) but it will also be about our
careers, our home, our family, and all the fun things in between. Now, I will say that I am not a writer- in fact,
those English teacher friends of mine may cringe at some of the grammatical
errors I make- but that’s OK- I’m a math teacher anyways 😊
I look forward to sharing our lives with you through each
new season we encounter! Check back soon for a new post!
